I am an Emmy award-winning bilingual multimedia journalist who has worked in Spanish and English-language broadcast, print and online media on the local, national and international level.

I am the founder, Editor and Publisher of Media Moves, a popular and influential website that covers Latinos in the media, Hispanic media and the issues that affect the industry.

Currently a regular contributor to Forbes.com, I write about Hispanic media and entertainment.

During my extensive journalism career, I have worked as a reporter, producer, writer and anchor for Voice of America, Univision, Telemundo, CNN en Español and CBS Telenoticias, as well as Reuters, KTTV-11 and KCOP-13 in Los Angeles before diving into a convergence model at the San Jose Mercury News, where I produced and anchored nightly television segments, webcasts and podcasts.

My experience extends to digital news management, having worked as the Managing Editor for the USC-funded community news website Intersections South LA and as West Coast Web Editor for impreMedia Digital.

A lifetime member and former national President of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ), I served on the organization’s board for seven years. I also sat on the board of the Radio and Television News Director’s Association (RTNDA) and UNITY, Journalists of Color.

Due to my high profile as president of NAHJ, my advocacy efforts to bring more Latino journalists into newsrooms and strong push to improve media coverage of Hispanics, I was named one of the 100 most influential Hispanics in the U.S. by Hispanic Business magazine.

As the head of a journalism non-profit, my communication and networking skills were key to successfully strengthening relationships with top sponsors of the association and to develop solid media contacts throughout the country.

My leadership initiatives have been recognized nationally. I was selected to participate in and graduated from the National Hispana Leadership Institute’s Executive Leadership Training Program and the Harvard/HACR Program on Corporate Governance.

While my professional trajectory makes me an expert in the field of journalism and Hispanic media, my personal life experiences have marked my work ethic and understanding of people and the world, giving me a much broader global vision.

Daughter of an Argentinian-born U.S. foreign service diplomat, I was born in India and lived in the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, as well as different cities within the United States.
